Green with Envy

The homeowner purchased both sides of a duplex and had taken down walls between the two kitchens to create one large space. They wanted green cabinets, but were having difficulty finding just the right color. After visiting EKAD Studio, they realized that Showplace had the perfect green color for the vision of their refreshed kitchen.

Incorporating all of the spaces for a good work flow without the “work triangle” being so separated was a little more difficult than expected because of all the pipes and bulkheads to work around in this older home. The final design left the appliances in their original location, creating a slightly larger work triangle but with a decent flow to accommodate the uniquely shaped space.

Many wall cabinets were eliminated to keep the space open and the homeowner selected hanging racks for their pots, pans, and utensils. The use of a contemporary hood keeps the visual flow going from one side of the room to the other. The owner LOVES the custom paint color, open feel of the space, and the attention to detail on the peninsula. Now, when friends and family gather at this remodeled home, they are green with envy.
