Weathered

Weathered Texture and Accent

Weathered is a specialty finish option that presents a uniquely textured surface blended with selected stain and accent color pairings. Available with a limited selection of species, the Weathered finish process is designed to exude an impression of time-worn appeal.

The Showplace Weathered finish is created through a multi-step process, using the best of both machine and hand-applied techniques to achieve a character that varies from piece-to-piece. The visual and tactile character that results is somewhat unique for each species and cabinet component. The natural charm produced through this variability is to be expected and results in a unique visual appeal reminiscent of wood exposed to the elements of nature over an extended period-of-time.

Weathered Texture

During the first step of the weathered finish process, specific parts of the cabinet order are processed through a specialized machine designed to lift the grain and create a tactile furrow; the texture that is produced replicates a worn, reclaimed look.

Weathered Accent

The second step of the Weathered finish process is adding the weathered accent. An accent color is applied to the material and then partially wiped-off to create an appealing contrast against the chosen wood species and stain.
