1 Select Overlay
Most Showplace door styles are offered in two overlays: Traditional and International+ (full overlay). A few door styles are offered in International+ only. In addition, some styles are offered in elegant Inset versions. Traditional, International+, and Inset doors and drawer headers are available on a framed cabinet box. Whereas, ShowplaceEVO doors and drawer headers are available on a full-access (frameless) cabinet box.
Read on and learn more about what this means to you.
Inset doors and drawer headers are fitted inside the face frame in a precisely-sized opening. This requires a higher level of precision craftsmanship in the manufacturing process. As a result, inset carries high-end, high-dollar connotations—but at Showplace, you can get this elegant option at our value price.
With Showplace inset cabinets you can personalize the design by choosing either beaded inset or flush inset styling with no difference in price.
2 Choose a Header Style
Most Showplace door styles give you some choices for drawer headers. All styles have a standard header which is usually a slab header with the appropriate edge treatment for the door style. On many styles, you can also choose the slant/raised header or an upgrade five-piece drawer header.
Five-piece headers with raised panel door styles will utilize a flat center panel on shorter drawer openings, see examples or talk to your Showplace dealer for details. Applied-molding, beaded, and mitered door styles also have upgrade header options appropriate to each style. This ability provides you even more freedom with your design—and if you have any questions, we're here to help.
3 Select Wood Type
Your chosen wood type will impact the available finishes. Select your favorite species to see which finishes are available. When applicable, rustic door and finish images do not reflect rustic characteristics.
4 Select Finish/Paint & Sheen
The right finish will customize your look while protecting your cabinets from drying, cracking, deteriorating, and swelling. Choose the paint, standard or character stain, surface option, or glaze, if available, that suits your style.
*Please select a Wood Type above before selecting your Finish/Paint & Sheen
Sheen is the relative shininess or glossiness of a finish. Showplace offers all finishes in your choice of two sheens: satin or matte. Satin is most often considered the normal sheen for home cabinetry. Matte is a little bit softer and a little bit flatter than satin and is often associated with high-end furniture.
Paint or stain finishes are created by a multistep process that includes final topcoating with an oven-baked varnish for superior durability.
