How is a Showplace Cabinet Made?

Submit an Order

Your Showplace dealer submits your cabinet order to us. Our Customer Relations team receives it, assigns it a placeholder number.

Order Processed

We process the order details and send an acknowledgment to your dealer. This is their chance to review every detail and make any changes before the order moves into production. Accuracy is everything at this stage.

As the ship date approaches, your order is officially released to production. Our scheduling team coordinates with multiple departments to prepare for the build.

Parts Pulled

Unfinished panels, shelving material, and cabinet frame parts are pulled from our warehouse and cut to exact dimensions for your order. Our skilled team assembles the cabinet frames, setting the foundation for the build.

Doors & Drawers Built

Your doors and drawer fronts are crafted at our Beresford, SD facility. Once complete, they’re placed on order-specific carts and delivered by truck to our Harrisburg, SD production facility.

Drawer boxes are built and will eventually join other cabinet parts to complete each cabinet’s production.

Sanding

Frames, panels, and doors are sanded to a smooth finish—both by machine and by hand—ensuring every curve and corner meets our high quality standards.

Specialty Assembly

Unique elements like floating shelves, custom wood hoods, and other special-order pieces are built in our Specials department and carefully sanded for finishing.

Onbearing

Parts are hung on slow-moving lines or placed on wheeled racks for painting and staining.

Paint Finishing

Our automated flatline finish system handles high-volume parts, while skilled employees hand-spray or hand-wipe specialty pieces for a flawless look.

Setup

Finished parts move to our Setup area, where every component—doors, shelves, drawer headers, and more—is gathered together for final assembly.

Cabinets Assembled

Carts with all necessary pieces are taken to the assembly area, where they are joined together per production instructions by skilled Builders to create beautiful cabinets.

Door Hanging & Trimming

Doors are hung, roll trays and shelves are installed, and accessory kits are added. Specialty cabinets like corners and furniture-style hoods are built separately and integrated here.

Corner Builds

All corner cabinets are built in a special area with specific equipment.

This area also preassembles Murphy Bed components, and adds special trim pieces and crating supports to hoods before boxing for additional protection.

Cabinet Inspection

Every cabinet is inspected by our quality technicians, who can resolve any final adjustments before it’s packaged.

Cabinet Packaged

Your cabinet is wrapped in cardboard, securely strapped, and prepared for shipping.

Warehouse

Each piece is scanned into our warehouse, waiting to be loaded onto a truck for delivery.

Shipment

Cabinets, molding, and other pieces are loaded onto a truck, and shipped directly to your dealer—ready for installation in your home.
