Blue Bayou

As recent empty nesters, the homeowners wanted to update their kitchen by increasing its overall size, moving a wall back four feet into their huge living room and adding more pantry storage. They have a large family that is growing, so they want this new kitchen to serve as the holiday/event hub for all future gatherings.

The homeowners built their home almost thirty years ago, so the existing kitchen held a lot of memories and was very comfortable to them. The new larger space gives them so much more room for all the things they wanted to add. Their design goal was to keep with the traditional feel of the home and make the new kitchen fresh, but keep it classic, cozy and comfortable.

This kitchen won second place in the Traditional Kitchen category of the 2020 Design Contest.
