Making It Personal
The kitchen had not be renovated in over fifty years, so it was finally time for an upgrade. In addition to the kitchen space, the homeowners also wanted to add storage in the dining room and tie it into the kitchen to give it a more casual feel.
They love the added storage and the huge island with seating for entertaining family and friends. A big part of the the design is the classic black and white cabinets, from Showplace, with the satin brass accents. The homeowners did not want it to be too trendy, so they decided to keep the hardware simple and do more traditional lantern pendants in the gold finish.
The homeowners are the aunt and uncle of the designer, so the design was something she had discussed with them for quite a while. She actually grew up in this house so it made the project even more exciting and personal.
