No Reason Not To Wine
This welcoming space began as an office with dark walls and no character that was tucked between the family room and living room. The goal was to transform this space into an extension of the kitchen and family room but have it’s own function and design.
The project began by creating an opening into the family room for visual connection while also enlarging the existing double door into an 8-foot-high cased opening to connect the spaces. Another wall was built to house the back focal point of the wine bar and create a nook boasts tall cabinetry for additional storage.
The Cherry Montana finish was the first piece in the design selection and takes center stage housing the wine collection on custom designed angled wine shelves, allowing easy access and visual interest for the space. The Extra White Flush Inset Pendelton glass and mesh door cabinetry complement the warmth of the Montana finish. The drawer headers were designed in the complementary white to continue the combination of the two finishes. The custom paneled ice maker and glass wall angle cabinet contribute to the beauty of the service counter. The solid base molding creates a built in furniture feel. The result is a beautiful entertaining space that draws everyone in to enjoy time together and, of course, a glass of wine.
This project won First Place in the New Products category of the 2022 Design Contest.
