The previous kitchen was very dark and dated, and the flow of the massive odd shaped island was not functional. The homeowners wanted a bright and comfortable space, great for entertaining as they always have a house full of people.
One of the biggest challenges faced was the layout of the front entry way which led into the kitchen. A large built-in pantry was created out of one of the two closets, and a bar area where the second closet was located. The bar allows small preludes to the kitchen space and finishes. The transition is timeless, functional, and beautiful.
The homeowners’ favorite part of her finished space is the massive island, which is perfect for hosting their many guests.
